Prayer for Wildewood on Thursdays?

We signed up to pray for direction and growth for Wildewood every Thursday. One hour out of every week to pray for our Church. Well the new wore off, and I just wonder if we are still remembering our promise to pray. There has been so many things going on lately, several deaths, several illnesses, financial worries, etc. etc. etc., but are we letting those things take over our commitment for that one hour.

On Facebook, Brad is asking for us to pray for miraculous things to happenin our church. We are all ready for it, we all want it. Can we all renew our commitment to pray that one day of the week, Thursday, just for our church and all the wonderful things we want to happen? One hour isn’t so much time, we go to eat for at least an hour, and we go to movies for more than an hour.

Doesn’t our church’s future deserve our full attention for that one hour?

I’ll admit sometimes, I have to pray in 30-minute intervals, so maybe if you can’t find one hour at a time, maybe you can for 30 minutes twice on Thursdays.

I challenge you all to renew your commitment or to make the commitment to pray for our church – direction, growth, and miracles.

At Wildewood we believe that God answers prayer...

James 5:13-18

(13) “Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. (14) Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. (15) Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

(16) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (17) Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! (18) Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.” (NLT)
